Ofsted and Performance Data

Ofsted 2024

I am delighted to let you know that the report from our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on the 3rd and 4th December 2024, is now available for us to share with you.

The inspectors concluded that Shottery St Andrew's CofE Primary School is Good in:

  • Quality of Education
  • Behaviour and Attitudes
  • Personal Development
  • Leadership and Management
  • EYFS

There were many highlights, including:

  • Shottery St Andrew’s is a small school with a friendly, family feel. The school has a strong community spirit.
  • The school has high expectations for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Pupils rise to these high expectations. They enjoy school.
  • Pupils are cheerful, polite and welcoming. They enjoy positive relationships with their peers and adults. They value their education and this is reflected in the improved rates of attendance. Pupils behave well.
  • Pupils benefit from staff knowing them very well as individuals. Pupils are confident that if they have any worries, there is always an adult in the school who will listen and help.

Our next steps include:

  • Ensuring that pupils are provided with the support they need to write with fluency and with accurate letter formation, so that they are well prepared for the next steps.
  • Implementing a clear approach to ensure pupils have secure knowledge and recall of multiplication facts.

The report has provided us with an external view of the school reflecting the hard work of staff, Governors, children and families. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with parents and carers as we continue to move the school forward, whilst also celebrating and building on the many areas in which our wonderful school has shone through.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, governors, and all of our parents and carers for their continuing support and feedback. There is much to look forward to in the future of the school, with the children always being at the heart of all we do.

Yours sincerely,
Mrs L Withers
Headteacher
